Synopsis

【STORY】

My favorite place in the world is a small garden facing the corridor in the Western Palace, located west of the royal castle.

It’s not a place where beautiful flowers bloom in profusion—just a quiet garden with a small fountain, visited by only a select few members of the royal family.

…I love this garden.

Because I can meet my cousin Christian here.

He lives in the Western Palace adjacent to this garden.

Christian’s father was the previous king.

But he passed away from illness shortly before I was born.

Afterward, my father ascended to the throne as king.

Since my father was the late king’s younger brother, there was apparently no opposition to his succession.

The previous queen and her son Christian moved to the Western Palace.

I heard from my mother that the queen followed her husband in death, succumbing to the same illness after he passed. When I first learned this, I was deeply moved—what a deeply connected couple they were.

After all, to contract the same disease as the one you love and follow them in death… they could only be two souls bound by fate.

…And I became concerned about my cousin, left alone.
