Synopsis
I’ve just started high school. While searching for a club to join in the cultural building, a female senior approaches me. Club recruitment isn’t unusual, but something about her felt different from the other seniors.
I agreed to at least hear her out and entered the clubroom of the “Psychic Research Club” that she belonged to. Another female student was there for the same reason. The two of us listened to senior Tsubasa tell us ghost stories.
She shared four ghost tales with us. Though I dislike scary stories, a girl named Shiori was so captivated she immediately joined the club. The stories continued, but I couldn’t take it anymore and fled the room.
Then the next day, an incident occurred.
Four ghost stories and the events that unfold in their aftermath…

Editorial Review
Psychic Research Club occupies a narrower pocket of the visual novel landscape than its modest high school setting suggests: the literary horror-adjacent supernatural narrative that uses ghost folklore as thematic scaffolding rather than jump-scare delivery. The premise—a club recruitment that transforms into a séance of storytelling—is an economical framing device that lets the work function as an anthology while maintaining character continuity. This structure positions it apart from the more carnivalesque “pure horror” games that emphasize atmospheric dread; instead, it’s pursuing something closer to campfire narrative that happens to involve adult sexual content woven into its supernatural aftermath.
What distinguishes this entry is the collision between mundane school-club recruitment and genuine narrative consequence. The synopsis hints at a crucial shift: the four ghost stories aren’t merely atmospheric filler, but catalysts for real events that unfold in the “aftermath.” That structural choice—using folklore as emotional or supernatural setup rather than isolated entertainment—is less common in doujin works that typically treat horror and erotica as segregated compartments. The inclusion of 100+ pages of manuscript content suggests meaningful story investment beyond the ghost tales themselves. The glasses tag paired with the school uniform context indicates a particular visual coding of the female characters, while the ghost and horror tags promise genuine supernatural stakes rather than thin pretense.
The work appeals most to readers who want adult content embedded within genuine narrative progression and character development, particularly those drawn to Japanese folkloric elements and the specific eroticism that emerges from psychological tension rather than immediate physicality. Readers seeking pure jump-scares or action-heavy plots should look elsewhere.
A solid commitment to letting storytelling do the heavy lifting rather than relying on shock value or pure spectacle.
