Synopsis

“I’m going to change from here on. I’ll live kindly to others. Specifically, I’m aiming for at least one good deed a day.”

Satoru Azuma, the protagonist, has sworn to live kindly to others due to certain circumstances. Returning to his hometown “Kawae” after his parents’ divorce, he decides to start living alone and turn over a new leaf. He helps Kotone Kaido, the landlord’s daughter, who was being harassed by thugs. He lends a hand to Minato Kano, the gardening club president who tends her field alone. After school, he works part-time at a military shop alongside Yuu Tsuzuki, its beautiful attendant.

Satoru’s helpful life seems to be going smoothly at first. But something feels different whenever he encounters Ruri, the student council president. The day after their first meeting, she appears before him again. Thinking she’s come to thank him, he chases after her, only to fall—splash—into a pit, his lower half buried in the ground.

“…A booby trap?”

Ruri snaps a photo of his pathetic state and leaves. Despite helping her, this is how he’s treated. “Did I do something to make her hate me?” His new life in his hometown after years away is filled with unexpected chaos.
