Oda Ayato, a spirit exorcist for a government agency, is assigned to investigate and destroy a cursed object at Souun Academy, a school teaching “blade arts.” Working alongside teammates Tsukikitsu Himeme and Shinonome Ruri, Ayato discovers that Kazemine Marika—an executive’s daughter from the Haitou Protection Society—possesses the cursed artifact.

After successfully destroying the object, Marika becomes a focal point for spiritual disturbances. To teach her how to fight the curse, Ayato enters a limited-time mentor-student relationship with her.
