Synopsis
Summary
[Story]
It’s that time of year — the Obon holidays are here! And you’re back in your beautiful hometown. Your niece has come to visit at the same time, and she’s always bugging you to play with her… so one evening, you take her to an abandoned tunnel on the outskirts of town. It’s a popular spot for people to show off their courage, since it is supposedly haunted by something.
Will the two of you encounter anything…?
[Special Feature]
This is a binaural audio work where voice actress Ami Koshimizu plays two different roles!

Editorial Review
The supernatural ASMR scene has grown crowded with generic haunted location scenarios, but this Obon-set courage test distinguishes itself through deliberately restrained narrative ambition and voice-work versatility. Rather than chasing jump scares or elaborate paranormal mythology, the work commits to a intimate two-character dynamic—uncle and curious niece venturing into the obligatory haunted tunnel, only to encounter Yuuka, a ghost girl anchored to the location by tragic accident. It’s familiar setup executed with surprising patience.
The real draw here is Ami Koshimizu’s dual-role vocal performance. The contrast between Nao’s energetic, pestering niece voice and Yuuka’s spectral presence creates a natural binaural anchor that many voice works fumble. The production leans into dialogue-heavy segments—”Courage Test,” “Strategy Meeting,” and the longer “Annihilation” track suggest escalating tension through conversation rather than atmospheric padding. The three-minute “End of Obon” closer hints at thematic closure, which is rare discipline in a genre prone to open-ended melancholy.
Binaural ASMR works with supernatural themes typically trade atmosphere for clarity, and the inclusion of voice actress credits and character context suggests this prioritizes narrative coherence over immersive soundscape experimentation. The Obon holiday framing—Japan’s season of ancestral return—adds cultural texture that elevates this beyond generic hauntings, though the synopsis doesn’t indicate whether the work exploits this thematically or merely uses it as seasonal dressing.
This appeals directly to listeners who want character-driven supernatural dialogue over ambient ghost-story ambience, particularly those drawn to Koshimizu’s vocal range and the specific appeal of niece-and-ghost-girl dynamics. The dual-character structure and structured track progression suggest a work that knows what it is: intimate, dialogue-focused, and deliberately paced.
Solid execution of a modest premise, anchored by capable voice work and seasonal specificity.
