In medieval Eurodia, society is divided into three classes: those who pray, those who fight, and those who farm. The Kingdom of Litvia lies in the central-east, surrounded by neighboring powers that continually influence its fate. Currently, it is caught between two major forces: the Minotaur Alliance inhabiting the vast Labyrinth Forest to the northwest and north, and the Kingdom of Almekia to the north.

Recent development projects have led to escalating conflicts with the Minotaurs, who repeatedly raid border villages and towns. Two years ago, a massive military campaign against them ended in defeat. Even after signing an agreement, Minotaur invasions and plundering continue.

While there are calls to attack again with Almekia’s support, Almekia—a Holy Cross nation—demands that Litvia convert to the Holy Cross faith and that the Litvian queen marry the Almekian king. Such demands are unacceptable.

With border forces depleted and national defense weakening, Queen Litvia faces a difficult choice: pay for peace through taxation, or bolster military forces. Recruitment seems impossible following the recent plague. As a desperate measure, the monastery monks are ordered to organize their own defense units to prepare for Minotaur attacks.
