Synopsis

Hinata Usuragi, who has been studying Western swordsmanship abroad, returns to Japan after a year away. At the airport, she is greeted by a woman named Nina Clione, who brings her to a certain academy. There, Hinata witnesses an astounding sight: beautiful maidens clad in ornate armor, clashing swords and sending sparks flying. Nina, the academy director, explains this is “Maitou: Cadenza”—knight-versus-knight combat. When Nina invites Hinata to teach swordsmanship at Ginran Academy, Hinata agrees to experience the Maitou firsthand.

But there’s a twist. Instead of genuine armor, Hinata is dressed in a rather suggestive bodysuit and given a wig—essentially cross-dressed. Armed with holographically-projected armor and sword through the academy’s magical “Theatre: Teatru” technology, this disguised Hinata faces off against the academy’s strongest knight and emerges victorious.

Caught off-guard by the situation, Hinata is hastily introduced to the crowd as Youhina, a second-year knight cadet who will serve as an instructor’s assistant. Thus begins Youhina’s double life as both staff and student at this academy full of maiden warriors—a tumultuous journey of cross-dressing shenanigans is about to unfold.
